Well, talking about Professor Henry A. Giroux and his video on "Where is the Outrage? Critical Pedagogy in Dark Times" I can say that he is a person who has studied about education, but specially on critical pedagogy.

He is talking about political impact on education because nobody can talk about education without talking on political, cultural, social and economic issues in which education is immersed in. He mentions how public education is in danger due to militarization, neoliberalism, and consumerism are affecting education because the states are just worried about production and consuming, but not preoccupied about people and their education for getting a better society in pro of others instead of themselves only.

He is just calling attention on students to mobilize and ask for their rights, like the good education right, since this right being disappeared step by step by politicians who do not agree on having a good educational system for all.

He is just asking what educators are doing for creating critical thinking on their students in order to have an insurrection in order to have a better democracy with justice and fairness for all and not for a few.

  1. Dear Alfredo,
I expected you to write a critical commentary on the main aspects that Professor Giroux ponders upon in his talk. Instead, I can evidence you have made a very general summary of his main ideas. Next time, remember that a critical commentary analyzes somebody's ideas in connection with other aspects, such as your own context, other people's viewpoints, etc.
